Yeh Hai Mohabbatein to go off air, will have a spin off titled Yeh Hai Chahatein

One of the most popular Indian TV shows, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, which premiered on 3rd December 2013, will reportedly go off air soon. Created by Ekta Kapoor and producer under banner Balaji Telefilms, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein features Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel in the lead roles.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, this Ekta Kapoor’s show will have a spin-off featuring Sargun Kaur Luthra and Abrar Qazi. The spin-off of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein will be titled Yeh Hai Chahatein, which will focus on the niece of the Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’s Dr Ishita Iyer (Divyanka Tripathi).

Speaking about the spin-off, Sargun was quited as saying to Mumbai Mirror,  “I feel blessed to get a chance to work with Ekta ma’am so early in my career.” There is bound to be comparisons. Anticipating it, Abrar told the publication, “Ours is a very different story, so we are not worried. It’s a completely fresh take.”

Adding on he said that his character is very different from Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’s other lead character, Raman Bhalla.

In order to take part in the reality TV show, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Karan took some break from the show. Actor Chaitanya Choudhry had been introduced as the new Raman Bhalla. Given Karan’s absence from the show, there had been some rumours that the change was permanent.

However, in November, speaking to Times of India, Karan had confirmed that he would be making his comeback as Raman Bhalla in the popular show.

Karan Patel was quited as saying to TOI,  “I don’t know why people speculated that I quit the show. I was just away from it for a while because I was busy with something else. This show will always be an integral part of my career and life.”
