Zomato co-founder Gaurav Gupta resigns two-months after IPO launch

Co-founder of Zomato, Gaurav Gupta has officially resigned the company just two-months after the IPO launch. He has been a key figure in this food delivery service providing company. He was the head of the supply in the company. CEO, Deepinder Goyal took to his official twitter handle to share the update with his followers in a cryptic post.

Gaurav had joined Zomato in 2015 and he was later promoted to be the Chief Operating Officer in 2018 and as the founder in 2019. Goyal shared, “I wish you all the best for your future, and look forward to continue being the friends that we are for the rest of our lives. ❤️ I am pumped and excited to see what you will cook up next. Make @zomato proud 🚀.”

The co-founder’s exit comes just a few days after Zomato announced that it has decided to stop its grocery delivery service from September 17. The decision apparently commenced due to the order fulfillment leading to poor customer experiences, which has apparently pushed the company towards exit from the segment twice since last year. Alongside grocery delivery, the company has also announced stopping its Nutraceutical business.
