COVID-19 Spike: Tata Group to import 24 cryogenic containers to aid the oxygen crises

India recorded a rapid surge in pandemic Coronavirus outspread over the last few weeks. The highest single-day rise crossed the mark of 2.95 lakh fresh cases (which makes it the highest spike ever since the pandemic hit India). PM Narendra Modi in his address to citizens last night confessed about the nation being in oxygen crises. After Mukesh Ambani sends oxygen from his refineries to aid India’s COVID-19 fight, Ratan Tata backed Tata Groups to now import 24 cryogenic containers to contribute towards curbing the oxygen crisis. The company will transport the liquid oxygen to hospitals in several states.

Tata Steel is reportedly supplying up to 300 tonnes of gas per day to states like Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha and West Bengal amidst the pandemic COVID-19 outspread. On Tuesday, the company took to its official Twitter handle and shared the update.

To mitigate the oxygen crisis here is one such effort to boost health Infrastructure,” read the tweet post which was in response to PM Narendra Modi’s appreciation for private sector industries which have that have been helping the hospitals in the crises.

States such as Maharashtra, West Bengal, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh have highlighted dealing with a shortage of oxygen supply to treat COVID-19 infected patients.

For the unversed, India reported around 2,95,041 fresh COVID-19 cases,  2,023 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry.
