Demolish Jama Masjid, idols are there below staircase: Sakshi Maharaj

Making it clear that the Centre should make a law for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, BJP Member of Parliament Sachchidanand Hari Sakshi alias Sakshi Maharaj called for the demolition of Jama Masjid in the national capital. The BJP parliamentarian from Unnao said he can be hanged if idols were not found from below the staircase of Jam Masjid.

“Main rajniti mein jab aya to mera pehla statement tha Mathura mein… Ayodhya, Mathura, Kashi ko choro… Delhi ki Jama Masjid toro, agar siriyon mein murtiyan na mile to mujhe fansi pe latka dena… Aj bhi main kayam hun..” (When I came to politics, my first statement was in Mathura. To leave Ayodhya, Mathura and Kashi aside and demolish Jama Masjid in Delhi and if idols are now found below the staircase then I should be hanged. I still stand by this statement), Sakshi Maharaj said in an address.

He said that the Mughals played with Hindus’ sentiments and had constructed 3000 mosques by demolishing temples. “Mugal kal mein Hinduon ke samman ke sath khilwar kiya gaya Mandir tore gaye..Masjiden banayei gayi, 3000 se jyada..” (During Mughal era, people played with the honour of Hindus and demolished temples and mosques were constructed, over 3000.), the Unnao MP said.

While maintaining BJP’s stand clear on building temples, Sakshi Maharaj sought the standpoints of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, BSP chief Mayawati and SP president Akhilesh Yadav on the matter.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena along with Sainiks are on their way to Ayodhya lead the party chief Uddhav Thackeray. Thackeray has been a vehement critic of the ruling BJP and particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi not being able to construct the Ram temple at the disputed site of Ayodhya.

It was only in Shiv Sena’s Dussehra rally that Thackeray announced that he will be visiting the Ayodhya site to restart the campaign to build Ram temple at the site. The dates of visit (November 24-25) were announced during the rally which was made public on November 13.
