At about 11:15 pm on Thursday, a massive fire broke out in a commercial building located in Goregaon East, Mumbai. The fire broke out in a godown situated at the 7th Floor of the commercial property in Royal Palms.
The said building houses famous Prime Focus office where most of the editing and VFX work of almost all the Bollywood movies happen. According to a fire brigade official attending the incident, short-circuit was the cause of fire. Many movie making equipment were severely damaged.
At least four fire engines were rushed to the spot. It took hours to douse the fire. No casualty was reported other than the collateral damage to the properties and the premise.
Earlier, in a bizarre incident, a moving car caught fire near Chakala (JB Nagar) Metro station in Andheri-east, Mumbai. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
