Joker: Joaquin Phoenix deleted scene revealed

Todd Phillips director of the Joaquin movie Joker disclosed after the film release that Joaquin Phoenix had absolutely modified one of the most best scenes of Joker. It’s nothing new about the fact that where there is modification there will be deleted scenes. Todd revealed to Collider in an interview Phoenix affirmed that there was one such scene as well.

“There was a scene that, that during the shoot we thought was one of the best scenes and we loved his behavior in the scene, and I’d always really liked the scene. And Todd told me and said, ‘We’re cutting that scene out.’ And at first I thought, like, ‘Wait a minute, what do you mean you cut that scene out?’ And then of course I saw it, and it was very obvious. It has to go.”

The deleted scene was like that where Arthur Fleck and Randall converse in the staircase. Randall gives him the gun which leads to getting fired from his job after the original scene in the film and it was then when Joaquin revealed that not having watched the ‘original sequences made sense’ and then ‘you were okay with it’. However, in the complete film this scene that was deleted gets a callback where Arthur strike out ‘forget to’ from ‘don’t forget to smile’ sign taking down towards the stairwell.

That was not the deleted scene in view of Phillips. “You know the thing in the movie, he spins, he kisses the woman. But we cut this thing together of ‘Please welcome Joker,’ and I don’t know, we did it 13 times maybe, and they’re all different and they’re so funny and there’s so many good ones. I was like, ‘Oh, I wonder why I didn’t use that one?'”

Apparently, it was this scene that the director was talking about, out of all the deleted scenes.
