Kapil Sibal reminds PM Modi, BJP of their dada-dadis ‘anti-national activities’

Kapil Sibal reminds PM Modi, BJP of dada-dadis ‘anti-national activities’. Following Modi's comment on Rahul Gandhi did your nana-nani lay water pipes?

Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “did your nana-nani lay water pipes?” jibe at Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Kapil Sibal took a veiled dig at the Indian premiere saying that he doesn’t even know about his own dada-dadis.

Talking to the news agency ANI, Sibal said, “I don’t think PM ponders over what he says. I want to ask the PM who built the Hirakud dam, Sardar Sarovar dam, Tehri dam, Bhakra dam? The dada-dadi of Modi ji or his party? Does he know anything about the history of India?”

Sibal also accused the ancestors of the Bharatiya Janata Party of having collaborated with the British during colonial rule. He said, “They were the ones who were collaborating with the British. In the 1942 Quit-India movement they sided with the British. That was the conduct of their dad-dadis and nana-nanis. Unfortunately he doesn’t even know about his own dada-dadis, I wish he did.”

In a sharp attack at PM Modi, Kapil Sibal tweeted, “Modiji asks Rahulji : ” Did your Nana Nani Dada Dadi lay … water pipelines…. Ask how you got drinking water at platform when you were young Nehruji laid the foundation of a modern industrial India.”

Meanwhile, P Chidambaram reminded the PM Modi of Congress party’s legacy and named several non-Gandhi family presidents in the party.  “To jog PM Modi’s memory: among the Congress Presidents since 1947 were Acharya Kripalani, Pattabhi Sitaramayya, Purushottamdas Tandon, U N Dhebar, Sanjiva Reddy, Sanjivaiah, Kamaraj, Nijalingappa, C Subramanian, Jagjivan Ram, Shankar Dayal Sharma, D K Barooah, Brahmananda Reddy, P V Narasimha Rao and Sitaram Kesri,” he said.

It is to be noted that on Friday, while addressing a rally in Chhattisgarh, PM Modi launched a scathing attack on the ruling Congress party. PM Modi asked whether Rahul’s grandparents layout water pipelines in India. Further, at the election rally in Ambikapur, he also asked if Congress had anyone outside the Gandhi family as President.
