The Bharat Ratna Awardee suffered from kidney tract infection and chest congestion while being a diabetic patient. On 11 June, he was admitted to the neuro-cardiac department of AIIMS, New Delhi. His condition deteriorated on Tuesday, 14 August.
Bharat Ratna and former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away at the age of 93.
