Condolences pour in on social media after Vajpayee’s demise

The Bharat Ratna Awardee suffered from kidney tract infection and chest congestion while being a diabetic patient. On 11 June, he was admitted to the neuro-cardiac department of AIIMS, New Delhi. His condition deteriorated on Tuesday, 14 August.

Bharat Ratna and former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away at the age of 93.

Among the dignitaries who visited him were Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, External Minister of Affairs Sushma Swaraj, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Smriti Irani, Rajnath Singh, Suresh Prabhu, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee BJP president Amit Shah and BJP lawmaker Meenakshi Lekhi.
