Actor Anil Murali passes away at 56

In a year that has been marked by some truly tragic losses for the entertainment industry, another name has left for the heavenly abode. Malayalam actor Anil Murali passed away on Thursday leaving the industry bereft of a remarkable talent. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Kochi suffering from liver disease. The actor was 56.

This year has seen the loss of some undeniable gems in the entertainment industry. Earlier in the year, the entertainment industry was left in shock with the sudden deaths of Bollywood actors Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor. Recently, the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput caused quite a stir within the industry. The police investigation into the case is still ongoing. Moreover, Kannada TV actor Susheel Gowda and Marathi actor Aashutosh Bhakre also reportedly committed suicide recently. The Kannada entertainment industry also suffered the loss of beloved actor Chiranjeevi Sarja in June. Overall, this has been a devastating year for the industry.

Anil Murali started his acting career with the small screen. He broke out to the silver screen with his debut movie Kanyakumariyil Oru Kavitha in 1993. He went to act in over 200 films, including several Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu films.

He found success as a villain and a character artist in the industry. The actor was best known for his roles in movies like Valkannadi, Lion, Baba Kalyani, Puthan Panam, Double Barrel, Pokkiri Raja, Run Baby Run, Ayalum Njanum Thammil and Iyobinte Pusthakam among others.

Anil Murali was last seen in Forensic, which released earlier this year.

A number of celebrities from the industry including Aju Varghese, Senthil Krishna, and Muktha mourned the loss of the actor.
