Kannada actor Chiranjeevi Sarja passes away at 39

Noted Sandalwood actor Chiranjeevi Sarja passed away on Sunday, June 7. He was just 39.  The husband of actress Meghana Raj passed away suddenly due to a massive heart attack in Bengaluru. His death left the southern film industry in utter shock and disbelief.

The 39-year-old actor had complained of severe chest pain and breathing difficulties on Saturday. He was soon rushed to a private hospital in Bengaluru. It is said he had a severe heart attack, the doctors tried their best to revive him. But sadly all their efforts failed.

Sources add that the doctors have also taken swab tests to ascertain if COVID 19 was present. Chiranjeevi was hale and healthy and did not have any health problems to date.

Chiranjeevi Sarja, is the relative of multilingual South Indian actor, Arjun Sarja and the grandson of veteran Kannada actor Shakti Prasad. He had married Meghana Raj, the daughter of Prameela Joshai and Sundar Raj in 2018.

According to Apollo Hospital sources, his mortal remains will be handed over to the police. Chiranjivi is survived by his wife Meghana.

He had started his career with Vayuputra in 2009 and went on to act in 22 films. Shivarjuna, which was his last film, had released days before the lockdown was imposed. His upcoming movie ‘Raja Marthanda’ is in the post-production stage, and three other movies were being filmed.

Tributes are pouring in from the Kannada and South Industries to Chiranjeevi Sarja.
