On Sunday, 1st July 2018, BJP leader Sanjeev Mishra announced a prize of Rs 5 lakh for beheading Mandsaur rape accused.
An eight-year-old girl was abducted and allegedly raped by an unidentified person before being abandoned at a secluded place in Mandsaur on June 28th, 2018.
If the court fails to grant capital punishment to the accused, he will give Rs 5 lakh to anybody who beheads the accused said the BJP leader.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan earlier condemned the incident and said that the accused should be hanged till death when degeneracy was observed in the matter.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has also been constituted to further investigate the matter in which two accused in the case have been arrested.
