Petrol, Diesel Rates Hiked Again On Tuesday

Petrol and diesel prices have been raised again across the four metros on Tuesday, June 1, petrol was raised by 26 paise and diesel prices by 23 paise. This was the 17th time that fuel prices were raised in the country. But today’s hike has taken the rates to a new high.

Here are the newly revised rates:

Fuel prices differ from state to state depending on local taxes such as VAT and freight charges. Rajasthan levies the highest value-added tax (VAT) on petrol in the country, followed by Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

The state-run oil marketing companies — Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum revise the petrol and diesel prices daily. The auto fuel prices in India depend on various factors such as global crude oil prices and foreign exchange rates.
Any changes in fuel prices are implemented with effect from 6 am every day.
