Rashmika Mandanna reveals she rejected Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Jersey’ for THIS reason

Kannada actress has been grabbing headlines ever since she has rejected Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Jersey’ remake which was supposed to be her Bollywood debut. However, now in an interview, the actress revealed the main reason for rejecting the film.

Talking to IANS, Rashmika Mandanna revealed the reason behind rejecting the movie, she said, “I am getting that opportunity because of the choices I have made till now. I don’t think this choice is going to go bad. ‘Jersey’ needs a lot of you. It is almost realistic. Right now, only doing commercial films, I am going insane. Imagine doing something like ‘Jersey’ and not being able to pull it off.”

She also added, “If I am a part of a film, it has to be because I need to give in to the film. I will not accept any film to which I feel I can’t give a lot to. Jersey remake was huge. Anyone would do it but then I don’t want to come to set and be all tired. I feel they (the film’s makers) deserve more. Someone who can give in energy.”

Now, after ‘The Dear Comrade’ actress rejected the role, the ‘Super 30’ actress Mrunal Thakur will be seen as the female lead in Jersey.

For the unversed, the film Jersey is a Hindi-remake of a Telugu film which is of the same name helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The story is about a father named Arjun (Nani) who is a talented but a failed cricketer. However, he decides to return to cricket in his late 30’s as his desire to represent the Indian Cricket team arises and also to fulfill his son’s wish of an Indian jersey as a gift.

Meanwhile, on the acting front, Rashmika will be seen soon with Allu Arjun in Sukumar directorial and the shooting of the movie is expected to start soon but due to the coronavirus outbreak all over the world, the shooting has been postponed.
