Bulandshahr: My father taught us to respect all religions, says Subodh Kumar's son. Abhishek Kumar is in class 12 and had just finished his exam.

Abhishek Kumar, son of martyred policeman Subodh Kumar on Tuesday presented his brave face after his father’s demise and said that his father taught him to respect all religions. It is to be noted that Subodh Kumar died on Monday after a clash broke out between police officials and mob protesting against cow slaughter in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshar.

The slain police inspector Subodh Kumar was among the five investigating officers who examined the murder of Dadri resident, Mohammed Akhlaq, who was lynched in 2015 by the mob over suspicion of having consumed beef and cow slaughter.

A day after his father’s demise, Abhishek Kumar tod news agency ANI, “My father wanted me to be a good citizen who doesn’t incite violence in society in the name of religion. Today my father lost his life in this Hindu-Muslim dispute, tomorrow whose father will lose his life.”

Recalling his last conversation with his father, Abhishek said, “I had spoken to him one day before the incident. He was telling me to work on my week subjects and advised me to  focus on the subject in which I received fewer marks during the last examinations.”

Kumar said that his father Subodh Kumar was like an elder brother to him and a ‘nice man’.

Meanwhile, UP Police have lodged two FIRs in Bulandshahr clash. One FIR is against the alleged cattle slaughter and the other against the violent protests which followed. On Tuesday morning, three men have been arrested and four detained for the killing of Police Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh.

At least 27 people have been named by Police in FIR against violent protests which broke out after alleged cattle slaughter in Bulandshahr. 60 unnamed people also mentioned in the FIR.

Subodh Kumar is survived by wife Rajni and two children Shrey and Abhishek.
