Gujarat ATS arrests Mumbai serial blasts accused Munaf Moosa

An accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts was arrested from Mumbai’s International Airport by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad. The accused Munaf Halari Moosa was on the radar of Gujarat ATS since last year in connection with a drug-smuggling racket. He was arrested from Mumbai international airport on Monday morning upon his arrival from abroad.

According to news agency ANI, Munaf Halari Moosa was involved in drug trafficking worth Rs 1,500 crores, which was busted last year. He is also an accused in 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts.

Moosa is accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts in which around 60 people were killed and more than 700 were injured. He had fled the country after the deadly serial bombing. As revealed by the official Moosa was hiding in South Africa. He had been under the ATS lens for his alleged role in the landing of drugs worth Rs 900 crore on the Gujarat coast last year.

The 1993 Bombay bombings were a series of 13 bomb explosions that took place in Mumbai, India, then known as Bombay, on 12 March 1993. Some of the locations where the serial bombings took place are: Fisherman’s Colony in Mahim, Zaveri Bazaar, Hotel Sea Rock, Air India Building, Bombay Stock Exchange, Passport Office, Hotel Juhu Centaur, Sahar.
