Two Jamia Millia Islamia students to lead Malegaon’s women anti-CAA-NRC-NPR rally

In order to protest against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC), two Jamia Millia Islamia students Ladeeda Sakhaloon Farzana and Aysha Renna will lead women anti CAA-NRC rally in Malegaon today (January 6, 2020). The women protest march in Malegaon is scheduled to start at 2:30 pm from Jamiatus Salihat.

The Malegaon’s women protest rally has got supports from Malegaon Central Constituency AIMIM MLA, Mufti Mohammed Ismail Qasmi. The rally will also have Municipal Corporator, Shan-e-Hind, who is the daughter of late former Maharashtra minister Nihal Ahmed.

Speaking about Malegaon’s women protest rally, Mufti Mohammed Ismail told a Malegaon based website, Ummid.com, “This will be all-women protest rally against the CAA, NRC and NPR.”

“The legislations are divisive and disturbing for everyone – especially the Muslims and the poor. The government should revoke the CAA without further delay and refrain from going ahead with NRC and NPR”, Mufti Ismail said.

The local police have already made needed security arrangement for today’s women protest rally in the city. According to the report, Arti Singh, SP Nashik Rural, is campingin Malegaon to look after the security arrangement.

For the unversed, this is not the first Anti CAA or Anti NRC rally to be held in Malegaon. Earlier on December 19, a huge joint rally was conducted in the city which was attended by thousands of non Muslim people as well.

The Malegaon’s women protest rally to begin at 02:30 pm from Jamiatus Salihat and conclude at Shahidon Ki Yadgaar, Quidwai Road.
