Thenmozhi BA actor Selvarathinam Killed in Chennai

Popular television actor Selvarathinam was hacked to death in MGR Nagar, Chennai. The shocking incident was captured on CCTV. The murder took place in the early hours of Sunday (November 15). The 41-year-old was fairly well-known within the TV and movies circuit. His most up-to-date work is in Tamil Serial Thenmozhi BA presently being aired on Vijay TV.

As reported by sources to New Indian Express, the actor was murdered for allegedly having an affair with the killer’s wife. The killer’s wife also alerted the actor upon knowing his husband’s ill intentions. The accused murdered Selvarthinam with a palm tree sickle, said the police official.

Reportedly, Selvarathinam was living with his friend when he received a call in the wee hours of Sunday. He informed his friend Mani that he is going to meet someone but did not reveal further details. Mani got a call in the early hours of Sunday that Selvarathinam had been hacked to death. He informed the police and they recovered the body sent it for post-mortem in Royapettah Government hospital.

On checking the CCTV footage from the murder spot the police found 4 suspicious men getting down from an autorickshaw. The actor could be found involved in a brief argument with the gang. The peak of their argument led to Selvarathinam’s murder. One of the assailants was identified as Vijaykumar.

A Sri Lankan refugee, Selvarathinam is survived by his wife and children who are in a camp in Virudhunagar district.
