Pad Man Star Akshay Kumar Supports Menstural Hygiene Campaign
The actor had previously starred in a film based on spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene
Akshay Kumar is walking the talk from his movie Pad Man by supporting a campaign to provide sanitary pads and kits to female daily wage workers. The actor had previously starred in the film based on spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene. Moreover, he has also been promoting the same through ads. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become difficult for female daily wage workers to maintain menstrual hygiene.
In light of this, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has come forward to support a campaign that aims at providing sanitary pads and kits to the female daily wage workers. He took to Twitter to talk about the initiative while also encouraging his fans to donate.
“A great cause needs your support. COVID doesn’t stop periods, help provide sanitary pads to underprivileged women across Mumbai. Every donation counts.”
Celebrity Chef Vikas Khanna has also shown his support for the initiative. However, he lamented the fact that men are accepting food but not sanitary napkins.
“Why do men refuse to take a pack of sanitary napkins when they are taking food. They just throw it on the street. It’s for you to give it someone in/around home. It is a major need right now. Please Help us distribute them. Please.”
On the professional front, Akshay was last seen in Good Newwz. He will next be seen in Atarangi Re, which is being directed by Aanand L. Rai. In addition, he will also be seen in Laxmmi Bomb, Sooryavanshi, and Prithviraj.
