Oscar Award Winning composer AR Rahman rubbishes rumours of being approached for Ajith starrer Thala 60
There were rumours flying high that AR Rahman has been approached for being part of Ajith’s next upcoming film Thala 60, which is being produced by Boney Kapoor. Notably, the film Thala 60 is directed by H Vinoth, which has earlier helmed Nerkona Paarvai, which is all set to release on 8th August 2019. The film Nerkonda Paarvai is a remake of Hindi blockbuster film Pink, which starred Taapsee Pannu, Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor in the lead roles.
The were speculations that AR Rahman will compose music for Ajith starrer Thala 60 after many years. AR Rahman, however, rubbished the rumours. In an interview with The Hindu, when Rahman was asked if he would be part of Thala 60, the award-winning music composer said, “No, I can’t because I’m already doing too much.”
After composing music for Bigil, AR Rahman is currently busy working on Thalaivan Irukkindran with Kamal Haasan and Vikram’s 58th film with Ajay Gnanamuthu. Hence, the composer might not have time to take more project.
It is to be noted that Thala 60 would be Boney Kapoor and Ajith’s second collaboration after Nerkonda Paarvai. Speaking about their sudden reunion, Boney Kapoor told DNA, “I got to know him closely during the shoot of our Tamil film Nerkonda Paarvai. I was pleasantly surprised to know about his passion for racing and other sports. It was only natural that our next project together is a thriller that uses his passion for speed. I would love to have him in a Hindi film with an action backdrop.”
On the work front, Ajith is currently taking part in Tamil Nadu’s rifle shooting championship. It is said that he has qualified for the national level competition which will take place in December.
