According to the Premier League side, Mkhitaryan is, “expected to return to full training in six weeks”.

He has been one of the team’s options both as forward and a midfielder this season where he has scored four goals. He would thus miss Arsenal’s crucial fixtures against Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City.

He arrived at the North London club last season from Manchester United as part of a swap deal which saw Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez go the wrong way.
