‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ owner files police complaint against YouTuber who put him in limelight; alleges collecting funds without informing
Baba Ka Dhaba owner Kanta Prasad has filed a police complaint against Instagram influencer Gaurav Wasan. He has alleged Wasan for misappropriation of funds. The money was raised to help Kanta Prasad and his wife. In his complaint to police, Kanta Prasad said Gaurav Wasan shot his video and posted it online. He asked the public on social media to donate money to the eatery owner.

He further alleged that Wasan intentionally and deliberately shared only his and his family/friends bank details and mobile numbers. He soon collected a huge amount of donation through different mode of payments i.e bank account/wallets without providing any information to the complainant.
The owner of the food joint also accused the YouTuber of not providing details of the financial transactions to him.
As reported by Indiatv, Wasan has denied the allegations and said he transferred all the money into Prasad’s account: He said, “When I shot the video, I didn’t know it would become this big. I didn’t want people to harass Baba (Prasad) so I shared my bank details…”
80-year-old Kanta Prasad had shot to fame after a video of him tearfully recounting the desperation of the months since the lockdown was shared widely across social media platforms. The video was shot and shared by Gaurav Wasan. A day after the video was shared on social media, #Babakadhaba was trending on Twitter. Soon people and celebrities were seen flocking the Dhaba also asking others to support the Dhaba by donating and eating here.
