‘Badhaai Do’: Rajkummar Rao To Portray A Cop And Bhumi Pednekar A School Teacher
Director, Harshavardhan Kulkarni Spills The Beans On Rajkummar Rao And Bhumi Pednekar's Roles In The Upcoming Film-'Badhaai Do'
Bollywood’s versatile actor, Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar are collaborating for ‘Badhaai Do’. The film is apparently scheduled for 2021 release and it is being helmed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni. This film will be produced by Vineet Jain under the banner of Junglee Pictures and it a comedy flick. According to the latest reports, Rajkummar to portray a cop, while Bhumi will be seen as a PT teacher.
The director, Harshavardhan while talking about Rajkummar and Bhumi’s character in the upcoming film, informed Mumbai Mirror that, “Their characters are unique in that they incorporate comedy, certain goofiness and display some quirks. I could see only Raj and Bhumi playing them. And I’m confidence that the explosive chemistry between them will combust on screen. Every story has to have a heart and Badhaai Do has a very big heart.”
Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao starrer ‘Badhaai Ho’ had touched one of the sensitive subjects of parental pregnancy, however, the makers executed the film with gentle humour and won million hearts with the comic scenes.
In ‘Badhaai Do’, Bhumi will be seen playing a PT teacher who desires to play handball for the country, while Rajkummar will be portraying a cop. Just like the Dinesh Vijan’s film, this film will also be tapping a social issue, reveals the director.
