Famous Indian sportsperson, cricket commentator and Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu attended the swearing-in ceremony of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday. His presence at the venue has miffed the right-wing Hindutva group Rashtriya Bajrang Dal and president of Agra unit Sanjay Jaat, who announced a bounty of Rs 5 lakh on Sidhu’s head.

The Bajrang Dal leader was annoyed with Sidhu’s participation and sitting beside Pakistani Army Chief Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa during Khan’s swearing-in last week. In the viral video, he accused of supporting a government “which thirsts on the blood of Indian soldiers”. He also said that Sidhu has forgotten the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh that persons of a certain community can never be trusted.

Though, Imran Khan tried to put an end to the debate and took to Twitter writing, “I want to thank Sidhu for coming to Pakistan for my oath taking. He was an ambassador of peace and was given amazing love and affection by the people of Pakistan. Those in India who targeted him are doing a great disservice to peace in the subcontinent — without peace our people cannot progress.”

Even after the threatening video, there is no information on whether Jaat was arrested or not.
