BTS is a K-Pop band, also known as the “Bangtan Boys”. The name BTS was originally an acronym for “Bangtan Sonyeondan,” which translates roughly to “Bulletproof Boy Scouts” in English. But BTS decided to rebrand their name in 2017 which now means “Beyond the Scene.”

BTS is a seven-member (3 rappers and 4 vocalists) South Korean boy band formed in Seoul in 2013 — which consists of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook.
They released their debut album to the world in 2013, ‘2 Cool 4 Skool’ and lead single “No More Dream.” Later, the “DNA” music video broke records.
The lyrics of their songs are often focused on personal and social commentary, touch on the themes of mental health, troubles of school-age youth, loss, the journey towards loving oneself, and individualism.
The BTS fans are known as “ARMY” which stands for “Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth.”
The band is the first and only Korean act as of 2019 to top the U.S. Billboard 200 with their studio album Love Yourself: Tear in 2018 and also became the first Korean album certified Gold in the United States.
The members of BTS were invited to become members of the Recording Academy in honor of their contributions to music and as part of a push to help diversify Grammy Award voters, in 2019.
