BJP to bring up IT Cell in each district of West Bengal

The Bharatiya Janta Party seems to be on an overdrive ahead of the 2019 General Elections and the eye this time is on West Bengal. The eastern India state has eluded BJP so far — be it the Parliamentary elections or the Legislative Assembly election.

Just to make their claims stronger the BJP in West Bengal, the party is forming IT cells across the state which is believed to be campaigning for the party and make forays into the state which is still out of their grip.

It is learnt from BJP sources in the state that the IT cells would have already been a reality by now. It has been delayed following party president Amit Shah’s rally in the state and former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s death last week.

However, there have been several allegations about the BJP’s IT Cell for spreading fake news which resulted in communal clashes not only other parts of the country, but also in West Bengal. The cases of Basirhat and Baduria were instigated through fake videos and unrelated incidents.

According to BJP sources, they wish have IT Cell offices in every district with one convenor looking after the operations. “We have already found a 500 square feet office in south Kolkata and will be inaugurated as and when we get the nod the central leadership…It would have been done by now, but Atal Ji’s death and Amit Ji’s visit to the city delayed the proceedings,” a top BJP leader was quoted as saying by Bengali daily Anandabazar Patrika.

Meanwhile, BJP is gaining popularity in Bengal with each passing day and the latest Panchayat election was the testimony to that. In Purulia district, the BJP won 33 percent of all gram panchayat seats while In Jhargram, the saffron party registered wins in 41 percent seats.
