BSP leader Jai Prakash Singh calls Rahul Gandhi a foreigner, gets sacked

Bahujan Samaj Party leader, Mayawati sacked Jai Prakash Singh for his controversial comments against Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday. As Mayawati has extended her support to the grand alliance under the leadership of Congress for the upcoming 2019 General elections, Singh’s comments have irked the party supremo.

Clarifying her stance to the party members that no indiscipline would be tolerated, Mayawati said that until alliance is announced, any misconduct would severely damage the prospects of securing seats in upcoming elections. She said, “In Uttar Pradesh and in other states as well, until an alliance with a party is announced, members of the Bahujan Samaj Party should refrain from speaking anything about alliance at any level. They should leave it to the High Command.”

She also informed that she came to know about Singh’s comments which were non appreciable. and against the ideology of the party. Sacking Singh, she said, “I came to know about BSP national coordinator Jai Prakash Singh’s speech in which he spoke against ideology of BSP and also made personal remarks against leadership of rival parties. It’s his personal opinion. So, he has been removed from his post with immediate effect.”

Earlier, Singh while addressing a gathering, said, “If Rahul Gandhi had followed his father Rajiv Gandhi’s footsteps, he might had been successful in politics, but he followed his mother, so he is a foreigner. I can assure you that Rahul Gandhi can never succeed in politics.”
