Coronavirus has been constantly spreading like a wildfire all across the globe. While the outspread has not been contained, a new strain of mutant COVID-19 cases were reported in the UK. After the outspread of this new variant, the incoming flights were suspended temporarily in India. However, few among the travellers who landed before the flights suspension have tested positive for the mutant COVID-19. Amidst this, about 85 people have tested positive including the staff members at Chennai’s ITC Grand Chola hotel, making it the new hotspot for the outspread.
As per the latest reports, around 609 samples were collected so far from the ITC Grand Chola hotel, out of which 85 were found to be positive for the virus. The infected people also includes staff members. Following this huge outspread, apparently, the Greater Chennai Corporation has been instructed to carry out saturation testing of all the guests at the hotel.

Reportedly, the first case was reported from the grand hotel after a chef tested positive in the December. Soon more people started to test positive for the virus and eventually around 85 people have reported to test positive for COVID-19 from the hotel so far.
Reportedly, the hotel claimed, “While the GCC has classified some associates as asymptomatic and mild, the majority of our associates are working from home and have been absent from the property and so have no contact with other associates and guests.
