Coronavirus: 80 People Who Went Near Virus-Hit Techie Under Watch

Two fresh cases of the coronavirus had been detected in India. One was from Delhi and the other from Telangana. But both the patients were being closely monitored. It is now being revealed that the man from Telangana had also worked out of his office in Bengaluru for three days.

The man who works in the IT sector is suspected to have gotten the infection while working with people from Hong Kong while in Dubai. The man reached Bengaluru on February 19/20 and later went to Hyderabad in a bus.

Health Minister B Sriramulu said, “It has come to our knowledge that the coronavirus-hit person in Hyderabad had gone from Bengaluru. Therefore, all the members in the house where he had stayed here have been identified and are under watch. Our government has initiated all the measures to prevent the spread of this virus.”

Karnataka Health Minister further added that a medical team is monitoring the health condition of all those people who had stayed with the coronavirus-hit techie who is admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad.

Telangana Health Minister Etela Rajendra in a media interaction said, “There were around 27 others on the bus from Bengaluru who will be traced and notified. All those who were in touch with the man and worked with him have also been notified. We are working with officials from Karnataka and the Centre to keep tabs on the issue. A total of around 80 people have been identified as having had contact with the man since his return, in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, and have been asked to remain under home quarantine for at least 15 days.”

The man is currently admitted in an isolation ward, on the seventh floor of Gandhi Hospital which has been emptied and set-up for this purpose. He lives in a joint family in Mahendra Hills.
