Mumbai-Goa cruise service to begin in August

The Shipping Ministry will soon begin cruise service between Mumbai and Goa with an aim to boost tourism. The Mumbai-Goa cruise will start from the beginning of the next month, Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari informed on Saturday.

The first cruise between Mumbai and Goa having capacity of 500 people would start from August 1. As per reports, the tickets for the cruise will be made available under six categories. The minimum one will be Rs 7,500. The ticket fee would cover food, refreshment and breakfast. The cruise will set on sail every day at 5 PM from Mumbai and will reach Goa next day at 9 AM. It will be in service from October to May.

The Mumbai-Goa cruise will have eight restaurants at the service of the passengers. Apart from that, a 24-hour coffee shop will also be there on the deck. The cruise has been decorated with beautiful paintings and portraits. It is equipped to provide services of swimming pool, modern lounge and entertainment to the passengers.

The ministry has asked all ports to set up cruise terminal. Besides, two floating restaurants are also scheduled to come up in Mumbai.

The government has to decided to provide Rs 800 crore Shipping Corporation of India for purchasing boats.
