Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh recently put all rumours to rest when they announced the date of their wedding. The couple is tying the knot on November 14 and 15. They did not disclose the venue but rumours suggested that the two would get married at Lake Como, Italy.
Now, as per a report in mid-day, logistical reasons have brought about a change in the venue.
Deepika and Ranveer’s nuptials will now take place in Vakola, Mumbai. According to the daily, Italy was proving to be difficult for several family members, which is why the couple decided to keep it in Mumbai, itself.
The sangeet, mehendi, wedding and reception is likely to be held at a five-star hotel in Vakola. The couple is roping in the same wedding planner who was hired for Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding in May this year.
The most loved couple of Bollywood will marry as per both north Indian as well as south Indian traditions. The four-day affair will be kickstarted by a sangeet function on November 13. A Kannadiga style wedding will take place on November 14. On November 15, they will tie the knot again, in the North Indian way.
As per the daily, “Since Deepika is a South Indian and Ranveer is of Sindhi-Punjabi origin, the two families decided to follow customs practised by both communities. A South Indian wedding has been planned for November 14, complete with Kannadiga rituals. The next day will see the couple solemnise their relationship as per the customs of North Indian wedding (Anant Karaj).”
The wedding is a family affair but exceptions may be made for Deepika and Ranveer’s mentor Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer’s close friend and actor Arjun Kapoor and YRF head Aditya Chopra (who launched Ranveer in his production, Band Baaja Baraat).
Deepika and Ranveer will most likely host a lavish reception for their B-Town friends in Mumbai on December 1. Co-incidentally, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are expected to tie the knot on the same day in Jodhpur.
A reception in Bengaluru is also on the cards.
