The National Students Union of India on Tuesday alleged that the newly elected DUSU president Ankiv Basoya of ABVP had submitted forge marksheet to get admission to DU. While speaking to media, B Senthil Kumar, he alleged that, he had contacted controller of examination of Thiruvalluvar University who said, the certificate submitted for verification was not genuine, it was fake.

Ankiv Basoya is currently studying MA is Buddhist Science at Delhi University. He also claimed to have completed his degree from Thiruvalluvar University.

When The Hindu contacted Thiruvalluvar University with the Registrar in charge V. Peruvalluthi said, “This letter has been sent from our Controller’s office. It has been signed by our Controller. The certificate is without any doubt fake.”

But, newly elected DUSU president Basoya rubbished the NSUI’s claim to having submitted the fake certificate to get admission in DU.

“Delhi University gave admission to Ankiv Baisoya after due verification of its documents. It is the process of DU. Even today, DU has all the right to verify documents of any student enrolled in the university. But it is not the job of the NSUI to provide certificates to any person. DU has all the right to verify documents of not only Baisoya but all DUSU office-bearers to stop rumours in future,” ABVP spokesperson Monica Chaudhary quoted as saying by The Hindu.

According to the report, initially, NSUI claimed to have received a purported marksheet through Right to Information but later they changed saying they got it from their inside sources. The Hindu said,  “The document is not even dated properly.”

Delhi University officials have not given any comment but, sources said that, a committee would be set up to look into the allegations. The ABVP had recently bagged three posts, including that of the president, in the Delhi University Students’ Union elections last week.
