Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal Returns To In-Ring Action On WWE RAW

Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal has made his return to WWE. The Maharaja appeared during an episode of RAW in Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center. He beat Akira Tozawa in a singles match for his return. This is Mahal’s first appearance on WWE television since June 2019.

Jinder Mahal made a dominant comeback as he beat Tozawa in a short match with his finisher. The wrestler was last seen at the Super ShowDown event where he competed in the 50-man battle royal. He then faced Ali at a house show. The former WWE Champion was also a part of WWE 24/7 Title chase segments. He became a two-time WWE 24/7 Champion before losing the title for good. However, WWE then announced that Jinder Mahal had suffered a knee injury.

Last June, Mahal went to Birmingham, Alabama to undergo knee surgery at Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center.

Now, the former 3MB member is back with a bang. He has reportedly signed a 5-year deal with WWE.

Jinder Mahal won the WWE Championship back in 2017, dividing the WWE Universe. While many appreciated him getting some recognition, for others it was too sudden of a rise from his time as a jobber. It was a meteoric rise to the top for the wrestler.

Jinder won the title from The Viper Randy Orton and retained it against Baron Corbin and Shinsuke Nakamura. He eventually lost the title to AJ Styles before the Survivor Series. Jinder Mahal had not been doing much after losing his title. He had a very brief United States Championship run but hasn’t been able to recreate the success.
