‘Glee’ Actress Naya Rivera Missing At California Lake

Glee actress Naya Rivera has gone missing at a Southern California lake while swimming. Authorities are searching the area for any clue about the missing actress. She had been boating with her son on Lake Piru, Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Capt. Eric Buschow shared.

He also revealed that the actress rented a boat around 1 pm and three hours later authorities found her son alone on the boat. The child has since told the authorities that they had gone swimming but Naya Rivera never returned. “There’s another adult life vest found on the boat,” the captain said.

The authorities confirmed on Wednesday night that they were searching for Naya Rivera through a tweet. It said, “The missing person at Lake Puru has been identified as Naya Rivera, 33, of Los Angeles. SAR operation will continue at first light.”

Naya Rivera is best known for her role as Santana Lopez on musical comedy ‘Glee’ from 2009 to 2015. Unfortunately, two ‘Glee’ performers from ‘Glee’ have met an untimely demise.

In 2018, actor Mark Salling was found dead in Los Angeles. His cause of death was ascertained to be suicide. He was facing up to seven years in prison for child pornography possession. Glee star Cory Monteith also passed away in 2013 due to a drug overdose. Rivera talked about her struggle with the death in her 2016 book “Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, and Growing Up”.

“The Cory chapter really choked me up. I had (co-star) Kevin (McHale) come over and help me edit and we both had our moment,” Rivera said in an interview with the Associated Press.

Glee co-stars Harry Shum Jr. and Iqbal Theba sent their prayers for the well-being of Naya Rivera through social media. Harry Shum Jr., who played Mike Chang in the series, wrote, “Praying.”

Meanwhile, Iqbal Theba, who played Principal Abigail Figgins Gunderson on the show, posted, “Oh God… mercy… please…”

Rivera is from the Santa Clarita neighborhood of Valencia, about 23 miles from the lake.
