Gully Boy teaser: Ranveer Singh introduces real hip hop, romances Alia and Kalki


There is no doubt that Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are the two most talented actors of the Bollywood. The duo is all set for the release of their movie Gully Boy. The movie has been directed by Zoya Akhtar and also marks Ranveer and Alia’s first collaboration.

In a very unique way, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt shared a new poster and a trailer announcement video for their upcoming drama, Gully Boy. The video serves as both an introduction to Ranveer’s character and the concept of ‘asli (real) hip hop’.

The 1 minute 30 seconds teaser, shared on the official Excel Movies’ YouTube channel, is a prelude to the trailer which will be released on January 9. In the teaser, we can hear Ranveer Singh rapping while we can also see glimpses of his journey from rags to riches. The teaser also features Alia Bhatt and Kalki Koechlin.

In the movie, Ranveer will be seen playing the role of an underground rapper and a part of his journey to become famous has been shown in the clipping.

Gully Boy is based on the life story of street rappers Vivian Fernandes aka Divine and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy who are known for their song Mere Gully Mein. Check out the trailer announcement below.

Earlier, Alia and Ranveer released few posters of their upcoming film on social media. Apart from the lead duo, Gully Boy also stars Kubbra Sait and Kalki Koechlin in vital roles.

Gully Boy has been co-produced by Tiger Baby and Excel Entertainment and will hit the theatres on February 14.

Apart from this, Ranveer and Alia will also share the screen space in Karan Johar’s upcoming directorial Takht. The period drama is set in the Mughal era and also features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar in hey roles.
