Coming to bat with his side struggling at 86/3, Hetmyer was ruthless in tackling the spinners and impressed everyone with his batting technique. The 21-year-old made 106 off 78 deliveries with six fours and six maximum hits over the fence.
His carefree innings full of stokes across the field impressed many including India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who took to social media to predict that the dashing left-hander could well be the next ‘million dollar baby’ in the next IPL auctions.

The southpaw has already scored three ODI centuries in 13 One-Day Internationals. On Sunday, stepping in to bat with his side three-wickets down, Hetmyer shared two consecutive half-century stands with the sixth and seven-wicket to take his to a respectable score.
West Indies eventually scored 322/8 but fell on the way of a ruthless Virat Kohli and equally aggressive Rohit Sharma, who registered centuries to take India home with still seven over to spare.
“He had a lean patch in the Test series and pretty innocuous dismissals as well, so it’s good to see him get a score on the board. He has been doing pretty well in the limited-overs format for us, so it’s good to see him put up his hand and score a hundred today,” said West Indies skipper Jason Holder talking of Hetmyer’s innings.
