This year’s IPL auctions started with a staggering 971 players registering for it. While 713 of these registrations were Indians, 258 overseas candidates registered for the IPL 2020 Auctions. However, only 332 players have been shortlisted for the auction.

There are 73 available slots to be filled for IPL 13. There are some top-notch names that will be on every team’s radar. However, lesser-known youngsters could spring a surprise like the previous editions. The foreign buys are limited to 29 for this edition of IPL 2020. Glenn Maxwell, Aaron Finch, David Miller, Chris Lynn, Pat Cummins, and Dale Steyn are expected to be some of the priority picks. In addition, Caribbeans like Shai Hope, Evin Lewis, Shimron Hetmyer and Kesrick Williams are predicted to go over high at the IPL 2020 Auctions.

Moreover, there are national talents like Jaydev Unadkat, Robin Uthappa, as well as young guns like Yashaswi Jaiswal, Priyam Garg, Ishan Porel to be considered by team owners.

Auction timing and venue

The IPL 2020 Auctions are slated to take place at a hotel in Kolkata on December 19. The auction is scheduled to start at 2.30 pm. IPL fans can catch all the Auctions action on the Star Sports Network as well as Hotstar.

IPL is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in India. It features matches between eight teams representing eight different cities in India. IPL was founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India in 2008.
