Janhvi Kapoor All Set To Step Into Digital Space With Zoya Akhtar
Janhvi Kapoor is prepping up to be a part of Zoya Akhtar's anthology 'Ghost Stories'.
Last year, four famous directors came together to make a collection of short stories. Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Anurag Kashyap teamed up to release ‘Lust Stories’ on Netflix. The show received mixed reactions from the audience. The story revolved around love, lust and desire. Actors like Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, Bhumi Pednekar and Radhika Apte were part of this four part series.
A new show titled ‘Ghost Stories’ will also have the same format. This time the four filmmakers will direct short horror stories. A Pinkvilla report quoted a source saying, “Zoya has a script ready and she will soon be filming her short. It is a quirky but really scary story and this will be her first stint with the horror genre. But everyone who has heard the story has loved it.”
Zoya Akhtar has finalised Janhvi Kapoor as the lead role in her short story. The source added, “Janhvi Kapoor is the one who will essay the main protagonist in Zoya’s short. Zoya and Janhvi met and the actress was bowled over by the script. It didn’t take too much of convincing and Ghost Stories will mark Janhvi’s debut into the digital world as well. She has also allotted her dates for the same and since it’s a 30-minute short, it will be wrapped up in about ten days of shoot.”
Ghost stories will mark Janhvi’s debut on digital space. This is not the first horror project that she is a part of. She also has ‘RoohiAfza’ with Rajkummar Rao which is also a horror-comedy. This movie will release on March 20, 2020. Janhvi will also be seen as IAF pilot Gunjan Saxena in her biopic followed by ‘Dostana 2’ alongside Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar’s big-budget film, ‘Takht’.
