Kabir Singh Trailer: From lover to rebel, Shahid Kapoor nails it with his intense role

The makers of Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh has dropped the trailer today online. The film is a remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy and it also stars Kiara Advani opposite Shahid. The Telugu movie had Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in lead roles.

The trailer shows Shahid as an angry surgeon who takes drugs, alcohol, beats up people and uses abusive languages. The trailer shows how the character of Shahid leads himself to self-destruction when the love of his life (played by Kiara Advani) marries someone else. You can watch the trailer below.

Kabir Singh is an ex-student of Delhi Institute of Medical Science. Delhi University is seen as the backdrop of the movie. Shahid and Kiara wrapped up shooting for the film on March 29. The movie will release on June 21.

Talking about his role Shahid told Mumbai Mirror, “I never judge a character I am playing, I become him. Tommy (his character in Udta Punjab) was a crazy guy, the drugs had messed him up, but Kabir loves intensely and passionately. People need to feel the beauty of his love story to understand his angst and pain when he loses this love and hits the self destruct button. We all go through heartbreaks and can get self-destructive, but this is another level altogether.”

Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Ashwin Varde, the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
