300

With the General Elections 2019 just months away and even before that the Assembly Elections are scheduled to take place in four states, Congress seems to have gained a lot of ground in terms of propaganda in Madhya Pradesh under veteran politician Kamal Nath. BJP’s weapon in 2014 was social media, through which it reached the voters and reaped benefits to get an overwhelming mandate.

Congress in Madhya Pradesh under Kamal Nath looked to have turned the tables on the saffron party giving a test of their own medicine — social media. It is believed that Generation Y is glued to the social media and it is the best option by the political outfits across the length and breadth of the country to reach out to people and woo votes.

Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhatisgarh and Mizoram will go into Assembly elections well ahead of the Lok Sabha elections scheduled in 2019. The 71-year-old seasoned politician Kamal Nath who has been instrumental in strategising for plenty of elections so far is the man in Madhya Pradesh on whom Congress is banking on. And it looks he has a clear edge over the ruling party as of now.

With support pouring in for the veteran Congressman, things may see a different trend compared to what was witnessed five years ago. Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government has not been in the thick of things as far as state’s development is concerned and that is exactly where the Congressman steps in.

The Member of Parliament from Chhindwara is on war footing to topple the BJP in Madhya Pradesh. Being in charge of state for the upcoming elections, Kamal Nath is leaving no stone unturned to make sure Congress is not only be of equal footing with the BJP, but promises to do much better. To woo voters, Kamal Nath has already promised that his party will provide electricity at half the price if voted to power.

In the changed circumstances, Congress looks to have a clear edge on the ruling party in the Madhya Pradesh and the main weapon is the social media.
