Katrina Kaif on playing Kumud Raina: The character will always be close to my heart

Katrina Kaif has played Kumud Raina in Bharat. Along with Bharat (Salman Khan), we also see Kumud’s character going through phases of her life. Though the movie was all about Bharat’s journey, director Ali Abbas Zafar also kept Katrina’s character strong. Today, Katrina took to her Instagram handle and shared a few BTS videos where we see sharing her experience of playing Kumud and how she adapted the character.

Also, Ali says that it was very important to have a character that matches with Bharat’s character and the most important was to give her that attitude and instinct where she is head-on with Bharat’s character throughout the film. Katrina says that for her the most important thing was to understand who this woman (Kumud) is, her mindset and from where she gets her strength, and then getting the dialect right and have a good command of the language.

Sharing the BTS videos, she wrote, “Kumud Raina will always be so close to my heart. I will really miss this experience and have loved every minute of playing this role.”

Katrina has come a long way in the industry and with Bharat, she has yet again proved her mettle. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that her performance as Kumud is by far the best in her acting career.

Bharat hit the screens on June 5 and it is inching towards Rs 100 crore. It has become the highest opener of 2019 by collecting Rs 42.30 crore at the box office on Day 1. The film also stars Tabu, Sunil Grover, Jackie Shroff, Sonali Kulkarni, and Disha Patani among others in pivotal roles.
