Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the entire nation in his monthly radio programme, Mann Ki Baat today. From urging netizens to remember the importance of ‘Vocal for Local’ mission to reminding netizens of taking preventive measures in the COVID-19 outspread, he spoke about giving a boost to the self-reliant mission for the country.

  1. PM Narendra Modi started off his speech offering best wishes of Dussehra to everyone. “Best wishes to all of you on this auspicious occasion of Dussehra. This is the festival of victory of truth over untruth. But, at the same time, it is also a way to win patience over crises,” said PM Modi.
  2. We all have been living with great restraint, celebrating this festivals with dignity. Thus, the battle we are fighting currently is sure to win. Before the coronavirus outspread, there used to be a huge crowd for the darshan at the Durga Pandals, however, this time it could not happen. Earlier, big fairs were also held on Dussehra, but this time its appears to be low key,” said PM Modi.
  3. When we talk about the festival and its preparations, the first thing that comes to our minds is when to go to the market? Our vibrant Indian festivals always see’s vibrant market places, but this time when you go for shopping, remember your resolve of ‘Vocal for Local’. When purchasing goods from the market, we have to prioritize local products,” said Modi.
  4. Do remember the tough times of lockdown when we got to know those close associates of society without whom our lives would have been very difficult. Sanitisation workers, housekeepers and guards were with us in difficult times, now during the festivals, we have to take them along and we all must treat them like our family members,” added PM Modi.
