‘Master’ box office day 5: Thalapathy Vijay continues to rule the theaters

Thalapathy Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi starrer ‘Master,’ which released on January 13, 2021, in the theatres has emerged as the number one film at the global box office. According to a report in Deadline, the film remained the highest-grossing film across all international markets. It also stars Malavika Mohanan, Arjun Das, Andrea Jeremiah, and Shanthanu Bhagyaraj in supporting roles. It was the highest-grossing film of 2021 at the overseas box office, hailing the 1st spot surpassing Hollywood and other country films released at that time.

Trade analyst Kaushik LM tweeted: “#Master opening 5-days TN gross is around 82 CR. Enters the list of alltime Top10 TN grossers already👌#ThalapathyVijay’s 4th entry in this elite Top10. Lot more milestones to come 👍”

The Tamil action-drama has also been released in Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi dubbed versions and doing amazingly well at the box office. On its opening day, the film managed to collect Rs 1 crore at the box office in Chennai.

There have been reports stating that ‘Master’ will be remade in Hindi. Sharing the news, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “IT’S OFFICIAL… #MASTER #HINDI REMAKE… #Master – starring #Vijay and #VijaySethupathi – will now be remade in #Hindi… Endemol Shine India, Murad Khetani [Cine1 Studios] and 7 Screen Studio will produce the #Hindi adaptation… Casting for #Hindi remake will commence soon.”

‘Master’ is Thalapathy Vijay’s 64th film and it is also the first huge Tamil film to hit the big screens amid the coronavirus pandemic.
