#MeToo: Shibani Dandekar supports Farhan Akhtar, says he didn’t know about Sajid Khan’s behaviour

Farhan Akhtar was one of the first supporters of #MeToo movement. He faced wrath after three women accused his cousin, Sajid Khan of sexual harassment. Netizens questioned how Sajid’s family was unaware of his predatory behaviour when everyone in the industry very well knows about him.

While Farhan had replied to Amrita, his rumoured girlfriend, Shibani Dandekar took it upon herself and called out numerous netizens who said that the filmmaker’s family knew about it.

Shibani replied to one such tweet saying, “He can’t be held accountable for something he didn’t do or know of .. we need to focus on the girls and stop with the blame.”

To yet another user, who claimed that the family was turning a blind eye, she tweeted saying, “turns a blind eye?? wow that’s hell of an accusation.. HE DIDNT KNOW plain and simple .. had no clue… the second he heard he spoke up.. that is his truth no matter how much we discuss it, it won’t change.”

When somebody mentioned Vikas Bahl as his partners of Phantom Films were aware of his behaviour, she said, “I’m speaking about one particular person who has been accused of knowing and HE DIDNT!!!”

Not just these, but Dandekar has stood up for Farhan a number of times.

Earlier, Aisha actor Amrita Puri had tweeted, “It was fairly well known that @SimplySajidK is a creep and is completely inappropriate as far as his conduct with women goes. I was warned to stay away from him if I ever came across him. I refuse to believe that it has come as a surprise to ppl from the industry or his family.” Later, after Farhan replied to her, she apologised to him while maintaining that Sajid’s behaviour was well known in the industry.

Both Farhan Akhtar and Farah Khan stood against Sajid Khan. After allegations against him surfaced, they took to Twitter and wrote, “He has a lot to atone for.”

This is a heartbreaking time for my family.We have to work through some very difficult issues. If my brother has behaved in this manner he has a lot to atone for.I don’t in any way endorse this behavior and Stand in solidarity with any woman who has been hurt.

I cannot adequately stress how shocked, disappointed and heartbroken I am to read the stories about Sajid’s behaviour.
I don’t know how but he will have to find a way to atone for his alleged actions.
