For uninitiated, Mumbai Indians will face Royal Challengers Bangalore today. IPL has issued a statement today confirming that Joseph, who has featured in nine Tests and 16 ODIs for West Indies, will join the squad, but there’s no clarity on whether he will be available for the next couple of matches.

“Mumbai Indians have picked Alzarri Joseph as a replacement for the injured fast bowler Adam Milne for the IPL 2019,” said the statement.

According to the rules, the amount paid to a replacement player cannot exceed the amount paid to the original player. Adam Milne was bought for Rs 75 lakh in the auction.

Who is Adam Milne?

Talking about injured Adam Milne, who plays only limited overs cricket for New Zealand is a right arm, is a fast bowler. Milne made his first-class cricket debut when he was just 18-year old for Central Districts in the 2009/10 season against Canterbury.

Interestingly, Adam Milne took his first wicket in his second ball. He has played for the team throughout his professional career, although his appearances have been limited by injuries and by international duties. Milne was recruited for the 2015 Indian Premier League by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) but was unable to play owing to injury. He played for RCB in both the 2016 and 2017 editions of the tournament
