The employee of Mumbai Taj Hotel Ronald D’Mello passed away due to COVID-19. He was employed in the prestigious hotel for the last 40 years as captain. He was about to retire by the end of April this year. He was suffering from kidney ailment for the last several years and was under dialysis. When we went for dialysis to Riddi Vinayaka hospital, he got infected by the novel coronavirus.

Restaurateur and patron Gauri Devidayal announced his death on her social media page on April 15. During his service in the restaurant, he served all the big celebs to industrialists. He was known by most of them.

Ronald D’Mello was 60 at the time of death and he was from Kemmangundi, in Karkala Taluq. He came to Mumbai when he was 17. On 24 March, he celebrated his 60th birthday. He is survived by his wife, Marita D’mello, who is the Director of Model Co-operative Bank, Mumbai, and two sons. The eldest one is employed in Australia, and the other was staying with him.
