Nayanthara’s 65th film titled Netrikann has finally gone on floor. The announcement of the film has come with a poster of the film. In Netrikann, Nayanthara will be playing a blind woman. The title of the film Netrikann has been borrowed from Rajinikanth’s 1981 film of the same name, which was directed by S.P Muthuraman and produced by Kavithalayaa Productions. The film featured South superstar Rajinikanth in a double role as a father and son with Saritha and Menaka in lead roles while Goundamani, Lakshmi and Sarath Babu play supporting roles.
Nayanthara’s Netrikann is being produced by Vignesh Shivan under his first production venture, Rowdy Pictures. The film will be directed by Aval filmmaker Milind Rau.

Talking about the Rajinikanth’s Netrikann, Milind quoted as saying to The Times of India, “The film is titled Netrikann. It is the title of a Rajini sir film (the film Netri Kann was financed by K Balachander’s production house). We met Pushpa Kandaswamy, KB’s daughter, to get an NOC to use the title. Interestingly, Nayanthara’s first film was produced by KB sir’s production house. So, everything fell in place.”
On the professional front, Nayanthara was last seen in Love Action Drama and will be next seen in the historical drama Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and AR Murugadoss’ cop drama, Darbar.
