Nokia 6.1 Plus: New leaks ahead of India launch on August 21
HMD Global will be hosting an event in India on August 21, where the company is presumed to launch the Nokia 6.1 Plus. Just before the official launch, Nokia 6.1 Plus has made it to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth certifications. As spotted by NPU, the smartphone’s global variant with model number TA-1116, TA-1103 and TA-1083 have appeared on both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certifications.
Last month, an alleged leaked user guide of the Nokia 6.1 plus was spotted on Nokia India’s website along with SAR (specific absorption rate) details. After the alleged leak, Nokia’s parent company HMD global has been teasing a new Nokia smartphone launch for India. The global variant of Nokia 6.1 Plus is already launched in China in May.
(The parameter which is created to measure the rate that body tissue absorbs radiation during the use of cell phone is called ‘specific absorption rate'(SAR).
The Nokia 6.1 plus is currently available only in Hong Kong at a price tag of HKD 2,288 which is approximately Rs 20,000. The price range for the India market is not yet disclosed by the company. Considering the heavy completion against Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, the price factor will be very important for Nokia 6.1 Plus.
The Nokia 6.1 plus is a part of the Android One program and it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo. As of now, the only information the company has disclosed about Nokia 6.1 Plus is that they will provide two major software updates and three years of security updates for all its devices.
Nokia 6.1 Plus features and specifications:
The phone has an attractive Display with 5.8-inch LCD with a notch and resolution of 2280×1080 pixels. The notch hides the front camera and other sensors. It also results in a taller 19:9 aspect ratio, which is taller than 18:9 aspect ratio found on most budget smartphone displays.
Nokia 6.1 Plus runs on octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 mobile CPU with Adreno 509 GPU. The processor is the same as the one found under the hood of the Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Redmi Note 5 Pro.
The Nokia 6.1 Plus bags 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage, but HMD Global might offer other storage variants to better compete with its rivals. As far as the camera goes, the phone has a 16-megapixel f/2.0 main sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture. For selfie lovers, Nokia 6.1 Plus gets a 16-megapixel selfie shooter with 1-micron pixel size and f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone is backed by a 3,060mAh battery.
