Haryana: OP Chautala expels son Ajay Singh Chautala from INLD

Days after Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala was expelled from the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), another parliamentarian Ajay Singh Chautala was shown the back door by his father and former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala on Wednesday. Citing ‘indiscipline’, the senior Chuatala has expelled two of his grandsons from the party already in last two weeks.

It is to be known that Ajay has also been removed from the post of INLD state unit’s secretary general.

With the family feud gripping the party, Dushyant has created another controversy by stating that he has not received any expulsion order so far. According to Dushyant, neither his expulsion order has been issued officially nor the party’s national executive met to decide on the issue.

Earlier, along with Dushyant, his brother Digvijay Chautala was too expelled from INLD by their grandfather Om Prakash Chautala — national president of party — on November 2. Dushyant was also removed from the post of leader of the party’s parliamentary board.

With splits within the party on the verge, Dushyant was of the opinion that he learnt his expulsion only through media and only the INLD’s national executive or a committee headed by the party president can take action against him.

As Ajay — elder son of OP Chautala — too has been sacked from the party, he stated that the next course of action would be decided once he tours entire Haryana. Ajay is currently on parole and is serving a punishment in Tihar jail. Both OP Chautala and his son Ajay have been convicted in JBT (junior basic teacher) scam in January 2013 and were sentenced to 10-year imprisonment by a CBI court in Delhi. According to norms, both cannot contest elections and that is why the party is managed by OP Chautala’s younger son Abhay Singh Chautala since 2013.
