The tractors rally by protesting farmers in India caused a massive disruptions at Red fort on the Republic Day. The farmers protest caught international attention after celebs such as Rihanna and Greta Thunberg tweeted about it. Soon several speculations reported that these two celebs posted the tweet against being a part of a conspiracy and they were allegedly paid a whopping amount to do so. However, Poetic Justice Foundation (PJF) organisation which has been alleged of paying Rihanna has now refuted these reports and denied paying them.

In its official press release which is on its website gives a clarification on not  have been “coordinated Rihanna, Greta Thunberg or any number of specific celebrities to tweet about the farmers’ protest”. The statement further reads, “We didn’t pay anyone to tweet — and certainly didn’t pay anyone $2.5m to do so. However, we did generally encourage the entire world to share this issue. Through the international collective of organizers we encouraged the world to pay attention and amplify this message.”

“It is our hope that Indian media and government attention will invest their time and significant resources to the real issues of the moment: stopping the violence’s being committed against the farmers and their supporters who are agitating for their rights (sic),” read the statement further.

Officials from Delhi Police department and other departments are reportedly also investigating the conspiracy theory against the new Farm bill.

For the unversed, according to the media reports the PJF organisation played a “vital role” in “starting a global campaign” after being allegedly backing by the “political leaders and activists based out of Canada”.

On Saturday, Indian farmers participated in a Chakka Jam protest which lasted for three hours. Following the protest around 50,000 police officials were deployed on service for the security purpose in Delhi-NCR and other regions.
